Ailsa, Jacqueline Wilson is very popular and has written many books obviously aimed at teenage girls. Have you read Inkheart by Cornelia Funke? I see that the movie and the spin off books are out. If you haven’t read it it may be a good one to try before seeing the movie and make a judgement on how the movie and book compare.

Hatchet is a great read full of interest and suspense. The students should really enjoy it. I have found boys in particular start with this one then will follow the series. Good luck, there is much to discuss as you go along. MrsK
